What exactly is a Tiramisu?

A traditional Tiramisu is an Italian dessert that combines the flavors of coffee, ladyfingers, mascarpone cream cheese, and a sprinkle of cocoa powder. I enjoy experimenting with different versions of Tiramisu, such as Vegan Biscoff Tiramisu, Strawberry Tiramisu, and Lemon Tiramisu. The Oreo variation has been on my list of recipes to try for some time now, and I’m thrilled to finally share it with you.

What do we need for making Oreo Tiramisu?

For the sea salt cream portion, we require a light cream, sugar, and sea salt. As for the chocolate crunch topping, we will need dark chocolate, coconut oil, and finely chopped hazelnuts.

Ingredients

  • 450g light cream
  • 30g sugar
  • 1.5g sea salt
  • 80g dark chocolate
  • 25g coconut oil
  • chopped hazelnuts
  • finger biscuits

Directions

step 1

Combine 450g of light cream with 30g of sugar and 1.5g of sea salt, then whisk them together.

step 2

Dip the ladyfinger cookies in the espresso and place the cookies at the base of the baking pan.

step 3

Spread the cream over the biscuits.

step 4

Spread the Oreo cookie crumbles over the Cream.

step 5

Apply an additional layer of the cream on the surface of the Oreo biscuit crumbles.

step 6

Smooth out the cake's surface and place it in the refrigirator for 4 hours.

step 7

To create a delectable chocolate coating, combine the melted chocolate with finely crushed hazelnuts. Place the ready to eat Oreo Tiramisu cake in the refrigerator for another 20 minute before serving.

Pro Tips

  • Make sure to avoid immersing the ladyfinger biscuits in the espresso for an extended period, as they may turn soft and mushy.
  • Avoid excessive whipping of the heavy cream. Instead, whip it until it reaches the stage where stiff peaks start to form.
  • Finally, be patient. Place this Oreo tiramisu in the refrigerator for at least 4 -6 hours. It is highly recommended to refrigerate it overnight, as this will give the flavors a chance to blend harmoniously and allow the cream to firm up.
